JOSEPH McCOY

The Little Guy's Very Expensive Friend

Before retiring, Joseph McCoy headed a successful Connecticut personal-injury practice with offices throughout the state—including southern Connecticut, where some very large corporations discovered that Joe wasn't particularly impressed by very large corporations.

To his clients, he was the guy who would fight for them.

To the people he was suing, he was something considerably less endearing.

Now in his mid-70s, Joseph is supposedly retired.

Apparently nobody explained the meaning of the word.

When thousands of Harmony Ice Cream workers suddenly find their livelihoods threatened, Joseph joins Brendan Callaway and Herschel in the fight—not because he's interested in saving a corporation, but because he's interested in the people who worked for it.

That's always been Joseph's side.

Behind the courtroom warrior is something considerably softer. He's spent more than four decades adoring Angie, and few things entertain him more than the exploits of their son Troy and the man who somehow became their other son without ever technically being adopted, Logan Conway.

Joseph spent a career fighting powerful people for ordinary ones.

Retirement hasn't changed his definition of a good fight.
